Sue and Tony made every effort to look to our comforts and even helped us with our bags to our rooms. This is probably one o the best B&B that we have ever stayed. A gem of a cottage in a lovely area, central for the places we wanted to see, Wordsworth's house, Coleridges's cottage and trail, Doone valley and the West Somerset railway. Thanks to our hospitable hosts, Shirley thoroughly enjoyed her birthday with good company, and good food, in this high quality, tastefully-furnished accommodation. A bonus was the private sitting/dining room for guests.

What a delightful welcome we received from Tony and Sue when we arrived at Hartnells. A pot of tea and a lovely slice of made cake. Our room was excellent, full of character with a huge comfortable bed. Sue went the extra mile and booked us a table at a local pub for dinner. We would definately stay there again Breakfast was superb and generous. Sue and Tony were perfect hosts. Thank you both.

Thank you Sue & Tony for giving us a lovely welcome and making our Easter weekend superb. Our accomodation was of a high standard and decorated in line with the character of the house. Sue is a wonderful cook and it was a treat to have homemade bread, hot cross buns and preserves. Tony & Sue had a wide knowledge of the area and gave us good information of places to see including where to dine in the village and making reservations for us. We would certainly recommend it and would stay there again.

Sue and Tony - thank you for making us so welcome. The room was superb; the food sublime! Delicious home-made bread and cakes served in a lovely setting. The cottage itself is a gem with it's thatched roof and ancient beams. Loved the 400 year old door to our bedroom in our own private 'apartment'! Thank you too for all the advice on local walks and places to visit; helping to make the most of our short stay. We have already recommended you to several friends.

We arrived to a warm welcome and homemade cake! The private goundfloor double room was perfect and beautifully set out. As owners of a Jack Russell we had the ideal room with side access and a 10 second walk though the back garden to a park! It was a lovely location with hospitality to suit - thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hartnells. The room was ideal for us all with the side access to the garden/park for Spike. Your recommendation for dinner at the Notley Arms was also spot on. Breakfast was excellent, the only downside was that Spike would have liked to join in - sausages being his favourite! Would come again.

We had the upstairs room with separate bathroom but because we had our own staircase and landing it was completely private. Sue and Tony made us very welcome and were wonderful hosts, feeding us well and advising on where to visit. It was the perfect weekend away from our busy lives and families. Although we only had one night stay Sue & Tony were very helpful with our stay. The house is full of so much character. The room was very generous and comfortable. Breakfast was first class, it's quite a while since we had such a breakfast menu on offer. Can't recommend them enough.
